It isn't my birthday, but if it was.....

....I would want this gorgeous bracelet, £108 by Daisy Knights. It's simple but intricate and beautiful, and would go with pretty much anything.

Hello, gorgeous outfit of the week!

The weather has been thoroughly gorgeous this week and I've been out celebrating Bath Fashion Week.  Yes, that's right, Bath has a fashion week! It's mainly a celebration of local artists and designers, but Bath has a lot to offer.

My chosen outfit for the festivities? This bandeau dress and long knit cardigan...lovely.
I'd opt NOT to wear flats with this outfit as it's a bit granny-chic. Instead, go for some platform sandals or wedge to maximise the legs and give the outfit a bit of sex appeal. I'd keep accessories to the minimum and perhaps go for a retro watch.

Mood Fashion

As this blog is about life fashion, I endeavor to discuss things other than clothes. I'm a big fan of interior design and have a very geeky subscription to elle decoration.

I find that with interiors, although it's great to keep up with modern trends but at the same time find pieces and looks that best represent your style and personality. This is easier said than done, especially when, like myself, you have been and will be living in shared flats for a long time coming! I cannot stress just how much disgustingly distasteful furniture I've encountered, from once white but now yellowed-with-age fake fur rugs to green velour sofas and moth eaten net curtains.

Still, one woman's trash is another woman's treasure! But, my point is that it's hard to decorate accordingly when you're in part furnished accomodation with a fastidious landlord breathing down your neck and enforcing 'no blue tack' rules and suchlike.

Ever the rebel, over the years I have resorted to drawing pins in the ceiling, picture frame hooks and moving pictures every week in order to avoid staining the walls. All of which take quite a lot of effort!

As I tend to get bored easily, I'm always rearranging things (particularly photos) and love my bedroom to represent my mood. This year, there's scope for me to start again as I've just moved house and I'm all about fresh and clean interiors. Mostly white, but with splashes of vibrant colour. I am not a fan of bold, over the top prints. Nor do I like the plastic, modern, minimalist look. My style will always be soft, even if it involves colour.

I picked up a wooden exhibition sign for an Edward Hopper exhibition at the New York Gallery, which I've hung above my chest of drawers. It features this print (House by the Railroad, 1925), is about 1 metre squared and takes up almost all of the space on one of my walls. I love it!

My friend, Snow Kami - who has a beautiful blog on here - hand made me some beautiful origami cranes which i've used to create interest to a bit of empty space in the room.

Ikea has some great, graphic-y style textiles that make a statement but at the same time maintain a perfect understatement. To go with this, I mixed up some basic white, water based emulsion with water and painted my pine furniture white.

Once it's all (or mostly!) finished, I shall put some photographs up. But until then, I hope you enjoy this moodboard of a blog entry featuring shelves, also by ikea, origami cranes courtesy of google and room inspiration by kelly doust.

This week, I will mostly be wearing....

.....This lovely ensemble I brought over the weekend.

I love love love the armour necklace - an absolute bargain at only £10 from New Look. It instantly transforms any outfit and can be used for so many purposes, whether it be to toughen up feminine florals, add detail to a plain dress, or draw interest to a standard blazer.

The nude shoe boots are great and work perfectly with the ensemble without being too much of a distraction from the necklace. However, they are obviously a dream buy as not many of us just have a spare £500 floating around!
